This is why:
Thanks for the picture Al!Anyone who has gone on a Moose Hunt will probably get chills just looking at this picture. The sound of the bull moose call, the auauaauauauaauauaauhh of the cow moose is music to our ears. It is the thrill of watching this majestic wild animal in it's ritual rutting behavior that puts goosebumps on our spine. The camaraderie that goes on in the camp, the scouting, the camping, the hunt and the harvest becomes an obsession we all know.
I have been to the camp. I have been to the tree stand. I have been to the harvest, only twice in 30 years with my own rifle. I can just imagine what a bull moose feels like chasing that cow moose only once per year and being denied by the rival massive bull moose that is not shy to show his dominance.
I will remain passive and envy those moose hunters that are luckier than myself in maintaining a better moose draw success ratio. I am getting along in years now and starting to loose interest in the process.
I will remain a passenger in the ride to this year's harvest. I will enjoy nature at it's best. I will hone my calling skills. I will hang out with the big boys that were lucky enough to get a moose hunting tag. I will also hope that a better process may be introduced, one that may give some of the unlucky moose hunting applicants a better chance at a fairer draw!
Here is a link that is very active online. Twin baby moose having fun, enjoy!
A hunting I will go, a hunting I will go, da da da da da da, a hunting I will go!
